Magellan GPS
Magellan GPS navigators are well-known by outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. Magellan manufactures models that are geared specifically towards navigational driving, outdoor recreation, or a combination of both.
The Magellan Triton 2000 was made especially for the avid hunter. It is built and designed from nearly twenty years of field research and has been improved accordingly by the outdoor enthusiasts who use it. One of the features that make it so practical is the large 2.7” color touch screen that can be used even when wearing gloves. To help pace a hiking or hunting trip, the included axis electronic compass and barometer keep you going on the right path by noting direction, elevation, and weather changes. However, in case you do get lost, there is a microphone and speaker to record notes on waypoints and play them back. After dark, the LED flashlight comes in handy as well. The Magellan Triton 2000 also works well in fog and under heavy tree cover. Its VantagePoint software can upload detailed maps including user-generated maps, saved routes and even those offered by National Geographic which can then be stored on your PC for future use. To further enjoy your trek, the Magellan GPS also has a 2 mega pixel camera to capture photos of breathtaking views or time spent around the campfire. These pictures can then be e-mailed or printed off for friends and family to fondly remember your time in the great outdoors.
The Magellan Maestro 3100 North America navigator is one of the most inexpensive and easy to operate GPS devises available. It is preloaded with maps of the forty eight states and its slim, pocket size design makes it ideal to use for frequent travelers. The 3.5” color touch screen and turn-by-turn voice guidance make it uncomplicated to find an exact location simply by entering a destination and following the directions from the real time prompts. The included SmartDetour feature will help you avoid heavy or stopped traffic if possible. There are thousand of preprogrammed points of interest to help you find hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and much more along your journey. The more advanced Magellan Maestro 4250 North America Navigator is for the more serious travelers and interacts with Bluetooth enabled phones, gives live traffic reports, has maps of the U.S. and Canada, a 4.3” wide color touch screen, 6 million points of interest, an integrated AAA guidebook and many other features that are available through accessory purchase or subscription. This is a great navigator for a cross-country trip or an extended vacation.
The Magellan CrossoverGPS North America (2500T) brings the best of both worlds together in a very compact navigator that will not only tell you how to get to your destination, but also where the fish are biting. The Magellan CrossoverGPS includes all the features of the other GPS auto navigational products, with the difference being that once you reach a hiking or camping destination, it functions as an outdoor navigator as well. This means that once you are outside, you can mark waypoints and save routes just like the Triton 2000. You can also buy Mapsend regional topographic maps or marine charts to further track your adventures in the wild. The pocket-sized Magellan CrossoverGPS is waterproof and more ruggedly constructed to withstand the extra wear and tear that excessive outside usage can cause. The battery lasts about eight hours, so for longer trips, it will probably be wise to take extra or make sure to have a charger handy. Magellan also sells bundling packages that include the GPS device plus the accessories and software for hiking, biking, hunting, or fishing. This makes the navigator more useful and saves money on purchasing extra equipment. With so many possibilities offered by Magellan, outdoor enthusiasts can count on them for innovations backed by experience when it comes to using an outdoor GPS navigator.
